Western Visayas Tourism Assembly 2009 is a week-long event held in Roxas City, Capiz. It was my first time to attend such event, and I wouldn’t have done so if not for my friends who invited me to join them. After a 2 and a half hour drive from Iloilo, we arrived Roxas the morning of December 4. While waiting for our friend who will be arriving from Kalibo, we went straight to our home for 3 days; the Kangaroos Inn. It is near the Villareal Stadium, in where the event would take place. After leaving our things at the Inn, we went to the Stadium to check a few things before the event would formally start.

The stadium is filled with exhibits of different kinds.
First are the native houses.
This is my favorite house.

Ifugao House – It is a small enclose structure, a one-room affair that serves as living and sleeping room, kitchen and dining room. It is elevated above the ground by four posts made of a sturdy tree-trunks with roots intact. It has solid panels for walls and tightly thatched roofing.
Here are the rest of the native house.
